our staff

Meet our staff:

Dr Jennifer Bazen (BDSc,GradCertIndigStds,GradDipEd,MIndHealth)

Dr Bazen takes the time to make sure her patients feel comfortable and uses her many years of experience, along with her kind nature and gentle dental treatments, to assist patients, of any age, who may be nervous or anxious. Dr Bazen is very popular with our children patients, striking a calm balance between providing the necessary care and making our young patients feel comfortable and safe during treatment. Dr Bazen has a strong interest in preventive dentistry and enjoys providing dental services for the whole family.

Dr Bazen completed her dental degree at the University of Western Australia (UWA) in 1998 and commenced working in private practice immediately, having been offered a job by one of her teachers whilst she was still a student.

In 2002 Dr Bazen was offered the position of Honorary Clinical Consultant and commenced part time teaching of dental students from the University of Western Australia's School of Dentistry, whilst working in private practice and in the Aboriginal Medical Service. In 2005 Dr Bazen was invited to work for the University of Western Australia on a full time basis, initially in the Centre for Rural and Remote Oral Health and, from 2008, full time within the School of Dentistry.

During her time at UWA Dr Bazen lectured students on various dental subjects, taught manual skills to the dental students, supervised patient treatment by the students and was responsible for running various student clinics, including the 50 chair Undergraduate Dental Student Dental Clinic and the 20 chair Final Year Dental Student Clinic. Dr Bazen maintained her work in private practice whilst teaching at the University, via the University's allowed private practice time within her schedule, and she continued working in education until late 2013, when she returned to full time clinical work.

Dr Bazen achieved the position of Associate Professor of Dentistry whilst working at the School of Dentistry and continues to maintain an Honorary Research Fellow position within the School, through which she supervises student research projects and works on her own research in dental materials.
